چکیده

Methods This study included 50 patients with clinically suspected myocarditis, who underwent CMR at 1.5 Tesla. T1 quantification was performed on three short (basis, center, apex) and on three long axis slices (2-, 3and 4-chamber orientation), respectively. The modified Look-Locker inversionrecovery (MOLLI) sequence was used before and 15 minutes after administration of 0.075 mmol/kg GadoliniumBOPTA. Native T1, post-contrast T1 and extracellular volume (ECV) maps were calculated using a dedicated plug-in written for the OsiriX software. Mean native and post-contrast T1 as well as ECV were obtained from the three short and long axes, respectively.

Combining extracellular volume fraction imaging and T2 quantification by cardiovascular magnetic resonance in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis

Methods Short-axis T1 and T2 mapping were implemented into a standard CMR protocol at 1.5 Tesla in 36 patients with clinically suspected myocarditis. T1 quantification was performed for ECV calculation using the modified Look-Locker inversion-recovery (MOLLI) sequence before and 15 minutes after administration of 0.075 mmol/kg gadolinium BOPTA. T2 quantification was performed using a free-breat...

Extracellular volume imaging by T1 mapping cardiovascular magnetic resonance in patients with clinically suspected myocarditis

Methods T1 mapping was implemented into a standard CMR protocol in 113 patients with clinically suspected myocarditis at 1.5 Tesla. T1 quantification was performed for ECV -calculation using the modified Look-Locker inversionrecovery (MOLLI) sequence on three short-axes before and 15 minutes after administration of 0.075 mmol/kg gadolinium BOPTA, respectively. Global left ventricular ECV was ca...

In patients with acute myocarditis, the difference in apparent extracellular volume fraction between affected and healthy myocardium does not differ between early and late post-contrast imaging

Methods Consecutive patients referred for clinical 1.5T (Siemens Aera) cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) evaluation of suspected heart disease were prospectively enrolled. T1 mapping was performed with a modified Look-Locker inversion recovery (MOLLI) sequence before and approximately 4, 10 and 20 minutes after an intravenous contrast bolus (Dotarem, gadoteric acid, 0.2 mmol/kg). Patients...

Extracellular volume fraction mapping in the myocardium, part 2: initial clinical experience

BACKGROUND Diffuse myocardial fibrosis, and to a lesser extent global myocardial edema, are important processes in heart disease which are difficult to assess or quantify with cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) using conventional late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) or T1-mapping. Measurement of the myocardial extracellular volume fraction (ECV) circumvents factors that confound T1-weighted i...

Characterization of Benign Myocarditis Using Quantitative Delayed-Enhancement Imaging Based on Molli T1 Mapping

Delayed contrast enhancement after injection of a gadolinium-chelate (Gd-chelate) is a reference imaging method to detect myocardial tissue changes. Its localization within the thickness of the myocardial wall allows differentiating various pathological processes such as myocardial infarction (MI), inflammatory myocarditis, and cardiomyopathies. The aim of the study was first to characterize be...
